How to get started: 1. Shake well before each use. These non-toxic, water-based markers need to be shaken thoroughly before use to mix the pigment. Shake the capped marker until you hear the ball move freely (30 seconds to a minute). If you don’t hear the ball moving, remove the cap, press the marker tip down once to release pressure, replace the cap, and shake again. Test flow before re-shaking. 2. Prime the marker. On scrap paper, gently press the bullet tip until you see the color reach the base of the nib. Avoid over-pressing to prevent leaking. 3. Prime your chalkboard. Prime your non-porous chalkboard by rubbing regular chalk on the board and then wiping it off with a dry paper towel or rag. If you don’t have chalk, you can use corn starch or baby powder. Remove liquid chalk marker with a wet rag or paper towel.
